Two fresh and hot coffee spots that have just poured into Joburg

Hunting for the best coffee shops in Joburg? We found two!

They couldn’t be more different from one another but both deserve a round of applause. And if coffee is your particularly favourite beverage of choice, you cam to the right place. We’re about to expose what makes these coffee shops in Joburg so unique and honestly addictive.

1. Manaka Coffee

go for the Chemex stay for the vegan banana bread

We are kind of obsessed with this popular coffee shop at the mo. So stop hitting the snooze button and rather go grab a Chemex style coffee at Manaka, situated at the Polo Fields Crossing Centre in Waterfall.

Apparently this Chemex style coffee making was invented in 1941, basically it is one of the strongest forms of coffee you can drink and is a manual pour-over style glass coffeemaker. Not only does it look fancy but it tastes rich, bright and oh so heavenly.

Now you’ll need to make sure you settle those tummy grumbles and order from their Halaal menu because the food is unbelievable. So if you’re not a coffee fan but a foodie, then you should still pay them a visit.

Within the Polo Fields Crossing you’ll find one of the most beautiful coffee shops in the North of Joburg, chic and sophisticated but also cool and casual and you will want to bring Manaka into your home, so order a bag to take some beans home with you. This coffee is a product of distinction, you can taste its authenticity and its nutty, sweet, smoky flavour. So to espresso our opinion politely, it’s victory in a cup.

HR: this space is entirely child friendly they even have toddler chairs and a kiddies menu (yes of course they serve the best babyccinos this side of the N1.) For the adults there are yummy wraps, salads, flapjacks, vetkoek and the best vegan banana bread we’ve ever had the pleasure of devouring.

2. Goddess Cafe

go for the unicorn latte stay for the prettiest coffice in the city

Pretoria you’re not the only ones with the most charmingly delightful cafe because finally Goddess have opened in Linden, Johannesburg. Now you’ll need to make sure you are dressed for the gram because we guarantee you will take 101 pics. This darling little cute coffee shop is reason enough to rise and shine.

Now they serve signature Spanish unicorn lattes with glitter, you select from blue, pink or purple and your coloured frothed espresso coffee is served, oh and with condensed milk too. What a treat. So if your personality trait is a purist then this isn’t for you but rest assured they do serve the usual style cuppas too.

As soon as you enter this pet friendly, child friendly spot, you will want to laze around all day long. It is just so comfortable and so aesthetically pleasing, if you’re a pink kinda gal. This is where you take grandma for a slice of carrot macadamia nut cake or your daughter for a Gooddess style vanilla french toast, with a cornflake crust and fresh berries. Or why not have a girls brunch and indulge in their delectable all day naan bread specialties or a nourishing salad bowl? The food is all so pretty and plated with love that you wont want to eat but it delivers in flavour too. They’ve taken the curation of ladylike to another level with a spectacular menu and we love it!

Think of it as coffee and a show.
