3 brand new restaurant hot spots you must try
If like us, you’re all about guzzling down, then this article needs to be savoured. We have taken the time to dine our way through Johannesburg (tough job, I know) and have come up with the following three new dining hot spots that you must try!
1. Cleavy's Eatery Rosebank
for a vegan venture
Say hello to Cleavy’s a new vegan/vegetarian restaurant that has just opened its doors inside Oxford Parks. We adore this local hangout and couldn’t wait to try it out.
#HelloRecommends: Try their yummy smashed avo on toast or tofu scramble with chili oil. Order one of their winter smoothies and grab a vitamin c booster on the side. Oh and just saying, they also make vegan cinnamon rolls.
2. Coppa Patisserie
for a carbo-load
The angels listened to us. There is a new patisserie in the Parks. Paris meet Parkhurst. Our mission was to ignore the Paleo peeps and eat our way through their glazed, glossy goodness.
#HelloRecommends: so because they make their croissants from scratch and they are baked daily, you have to try one. Then order a slice of their spongy granny cake, a bundt. Yip go old school with their glowing orange cake slice with a cup of coffee.
3. Lucky Peach House of Ramen
a slurping of excellence
A small caveat here… This one isn’t exactly a restaurant. Lucky Peach House of Ramen is part of the new wave of online ordering establishments called dark kitchens.
Did someone say you can now order a bowl of traditional ramen in Johannesburg? Yes indeed, the rumours are true and you don’t have to leave your couch. This one’s for the introverts who prefer to stay in, cozy at home because they’re only available for online orders.
#HelloRecommends: Shoyu Chicken Ramen- Pulled slow roast chicken with ramen noodles in a hearty soya based shoyu chicken broth or the spicy pulled beef Miso Ramen.
