96 Hours in Plettenberg Bay, here’s how to make the most of it

Whether you’re visiting Plettenberg Bay solo, with the family or just for pleasure, this coastal nucleus is so worth a stop by. You should really consider visiting this month and not over peak season either, rather escape the city and go where the air is fresher.

This is the real Plett, authentic, bold, adventure filled and just a good ol’ time. So if you’re lusting after a carefree, breezy beach holiday, this one ticks all the boxes and if you have 4 days to spare this year, this is exactly how you should spend it.

Where to stay

The Bungalow - travelling as a couple

Is there anything more romantic than a vacation? Forming part of the prestigious Raw Africa Boutique Collection, The Bungalow Plett, is one of the most unique, charming holiday experiences you’ll have. A decidedly decadent destination, this boutique style hotel will transport you to cloud nine the minute you arrive.

With the best location in the whole of Plett, the hotel is basically on top of the beach, only a few meters standing between your bedroom and the reverberations of the crushing waves. The accommodation style is comfortable, cozy and utterly splendid. The tranquil style cabins are beautifully designed and decorated, ensuring you have everything you need and more. There is also a fantastic restaurant on site as well as a rooftop sky bar for sundowners.

Just one of the perks of staying in this exceptional location is a Bali beach character, with a beachy, barefooted, balmy ambience. This is a beach holiday spot through and through so soak it all in, sip it all up and stay as long as you can.

Sky Villa - travelling as a family

There is a reason families are flocking to this exquisite location set on a hill inside the Barons View Estate with one of the most majestic seascapes. This spectacular hotel, apart of the Raw Africa Boutique Collection is a popular choice.

This is where you can let your hair down and create the fondest family memories. We recommend you stay in the Villa One @ Sky with its own private crystal clear turquoise pool, sun deck, fully equipped kitchen, free wifi, free parking and pets are welcome too. The villa consists of 6 bedrooms as well as a family cottage for any additional family members.

There is a restaurant on site as well as two bar areas with impeccable hospitality and replete with a magical spectacle overlooking complete views of the bay. One of the best parts is that there is a natural pool in the main hotel area where the little ones can play while you catch views of the untouched beaches.

Why is this such a beautiful place? You are in a grandeur estate, safe and secure and just a short drive to the beach. And if you’re addicted to the sunset and whale watching, you’ll certainly enjoy this one. The rooms and living area are blissfully tranquil and because the villa is a fair distance away from the main hotel, you can expect exclusivity and a vast space to call your own.

Family activities include: Bird watching, boating, cycling, fishing, golfing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, surfing and water sports.
