Eating out has become a rarity in the last year. Wallets are tight, if not shut, and with a worldwide pandemic most of us stay at home or are forced to.
However we found reason enough to exit our home gates and it was for the launch of a few brand new items on the Tashas classic menu. Oh and p.s. they’re all plant based!
We tried and tested em all and here are our favorite picks.
BREAKFAST:
Begin the morning with a warm cup of their homemade honeybush chai (R33) it’ll be sure to revitalize your taste buds, followed by an order of their ‘little miss sunshine’ homemade granola bowl with paw paw curd, coconut, yogurt and sweet caramelized fruits (R88). It’s gluten free, healthy, and delectable and you’ll be fully prepared for the workday ahead.
LUNCH:
Lunch:
Sicilian panini (R92), dare we say this is our favorite panini in the whole of Jozi? These two slices of crispy ciabatta are smothered with olive tapenade, topped with basil, napoletana, capers, roasted tomatoes and only the finest gooiest mozzarella is used. It’s a toasted cheese on steroids and it is downright delicious!
Then order one of their 3 brand new smoothies as a post lunch pick-me-up; the vegan ‘berry acai’ (R68) is our top pick!
DINNER:
Because it’s officially autumn, we suggest a bountiful bowl of their Zucchini spaghetti (R98) served in a tasty, zesty napoletana sauce. It’s carb-free, wholesome, light and you’ll never know that there’s actually no spaghetti in the spag bowl!
