Um excuse us, did someone not think about this before? Build your own burger. It is rather genius, in fact we are kind of mad we didn’t come up with this brilliant concept ourselves.
Remove the lettuce, add mustard, take out the tomato, add a double patty, whatever your choice you deserve to eat the very best burger, we mean it needs to be worth those calories right!
Cue Burg-r, now open in Sandton.
Now we all know South African’s love a good burger, we love our meat, hence why at this brand new burger bar, they only serve beef, Kalahari beef to be exact. Oh and yes vegetarians they have a sensational home-made quinoa,black bean superfood patty for you too.
There is a reason that many of us are attracted to the traditional burger,it’s affordable, filling, satisfying, mouthwatering and an utter indulgence. Well at this new joint you wont be disappointed, we indulged in both the veg and the beef burger with a vanilla milkshake and a side order of peri peri fries.
Dang delicious! The burger patty is small so you wont feel that slump after devouring your bun. The bun is brioche, it is buttery soft and velvety doughy. After you have selected your base then you choose from 4 toppings (fist four are free, thereafter it is R4 per topping) and finally select your sauce.
Order the double beef burger R90 or the cheeseburger R70 with jalapeno relish, lettuce, American mustard, pickles and extra avocado. This masterpiece is a triumph. Oh and don’t forget to smother it all with their own home-made BURG-R sauce. And just by the way every single item on the menu is made in store from scratch, they even bake their own buns.
The whole space inside accommodates maybe 20 people in total, it is small and intimate with a work-and-eat- kinda vibe. This spot hints at a friendly take-away mood, just be sure to bring your laptop as they do have excellent wifi as well as an outdoor deck dining area, so you just might extend your stay.
What a terrific addition to Joburg’s dining scene. Exciting, delicious and you wont wait more than ten minutes for your order.
