The best spot to go for an unforgettable high tea experience
It is always tea time: when you are cold tea will warm you, when you are hot and bothered tea will comfort you. Hence why we visited Zioux in Sandton for an exclusive high tea experience. We reckon it is fair to conclude that this is one of the best high tea experiences in the Joburg.
So keep calm, spoil yourself and drink tea.
Your Saturdays will never be the same again. It is time to get this partea started. Zioux, which has just opened at The MARC Sandton is out of this world magical. This five star dining experience will blow your taste buds off. Whether you visit for a brunch, an afternoon cocktail or a romantic dinner date, we guarantee it will be an unforgettable experience. But we recommend their high tea because it is just so special, so luxe, so utterly decadent.
Now why is this our pick for the best high tea? Well firstly we were hosted by actress Omuhle Gela, the atmosphere is other-wordly, the savoury and sweet selection is mouthgasmic and the quirky tea selection is so unique, they craft them in house and they are blended from scratch. Oh and did we mention that we also indulged in a bottle of Perrier Jouet champagne? You can order by glass or by bottle or try the Perrier Passion cocktail. This might just accidentally become a monthly tradition of yours, chatting over scones and Unicorn tea.
Zioux high tea menu items
Expect to break free with delightful decadent treats, all in hand-size portions. On the savoury side they offer: cured and smoked salmon blini, crayfish rolls, crispy prawn rolls with garlic ginger, puffed masa flour pillows with black beans, Wagyu katso in a sticky sauce, buttermilk chicken steam buns, corn fritters and Cape Malay fillet Kebabs.
On the sinfully sweeter side, uncage yourself as they serve marvelous macarons, cherry lip treats, choux puff coffee and tonka bean cremeux, guava swiss rolls and blood orange meringues.
Your teas arrive beautifully presented in elegant tea pots and poured gingerly into traditional cups. You will have a selection to choose from but we recommend the apple crumble flavor.
So have your first toast to the weekend and paint the town red at Zioux. You never know you might even be hosted by a celebrity.
High Tea at Zioux is served every Saturday from 11am – 4pm and costs R750 pp (Excluding Drinks).
We highly recommend booking in advance as the restaurant gets full pretty quick on weekends.
