Margate Pier is one of the finest fishing spots on the KZN South Coast. Anglers flock to Margate in the winter season to participate in the world-famous Sardine Run. The sardines bring with them a range of hungry fish, making this a prime spot for fisherfolk. The cooler months are also accompanied by the annual humpback whale migration. This is a spectacle that can be viewed from Margate’s Whale Deck or right from your hotel window.

2. The weather is sensational, all year round
