CLOSED: WIN with Kali Restaurant
As one of the best new restaurants in town, Kali brings something vibrantly exciting and unique right to the heart of the Umhlanga strip. This fusion restaurant – which opened its doors in July this year – found a balance between exotic Pan-Asian flavours, styles and cultures and creates an incredible culinary sensation.
In essence, the restaurant is a true cosmopolitan venue boasting an eclectic mix of cuisine and social milieu.
In addition, the food is a brave concept executed with perfection. Kim and Pashi, the couple who conceptualised Kali Restaurant are clearly passionate about their creation. Here, food is art and the way it’s served forms an integral part of your food journey. At Kali, it’s culinary storytelling at its best.

Patrons can choose between a set course menu and a la carte, and the meals on offer are crafted with the some of the best blends of spices, sauces and unique flavours.
Tried & Tested
Upon our visit, dinner was in the form of a four-course set menu. It included Royal Pani Puri – a twist on traditional Indian street food and an explosion of delicious flavour. We also had the chicken bao, which is a traditional Chinese steamed bun. And, the Signature – a sumptuous vegetarian dish with Middle Eastern inspired spices – had us in awe, as did the Kashmiri Pine dessert. This dessert had us indulging in modern fine dining with a twist. A delectable after dinner delight.
At Kali, you get to enjoy fine dining in a relaxed, yet exotic environment. It is a beautiful venue for festive season events and celebrations.
