Creating a rich community that supports one another

Cresta charity event 2022

Family and community are everything, and that is at the heart of what Cresta Shopping Centre has to offer. More than a mall, they believe in empowering and supporting the community in which they operate – from their shoppers, tenants, residents, and local NGOs.

In our post-pandemic world, supporting local businesses is core to our country’s economic come-back. This is why supporting local brands is a priority with initiatives like the Halloween Market – designed to drive business for those entrepreneurs hard hit during the pandemic. The market was well supported by our customers and tenants respectively. Showcasing local businesses like Manaba clothing, founded by Sonti Lebopa (a youth from the Growing Champions NGO). Cresta is proud to support these brands and equip them with a platform to promote their businesses.

Community give-back

Land of Joy daycare

This comes to life through the centres various CSI activities and working with local NGOs. Every year, Cresta Shopping Centre goes all out to support Nelson Mandela Day to encourage society and corporate organisations to give back to their communities in whatever way they can. This year, Cresta Shopping Centre focused on two organisations that help improve the lives of children in and around their community. This included much-needed donations of educational toys and books, stationery, and outdoor play equipment to the Land of Joy Day Care in Diepkloof, Soweto and St Mabels Day Care in Sophiatown. Equipping local daycares with the facilities needed to offer positive early childhood experiences will have a knock-on effect on the entire country.

Exciting new stores at Cresta Shopping Centre

They are set up with generators to ensure businesses can operate through load shedding and customers can shop with peace of mind.
