Wine Farms with Cosy Fireplaces
Stark-Condé Wines
The origin of the Stark-Condé winery is a serendipitous story rooted in family history. On top of the rich history of its vineyards, Stark-Condé also received its official organic certification in 2021. As a result, we recommend you visit their Postcard Café in Stellenbosch, for a glass of their signature Cabernet Sauvignon and enjoy the romantic fireplace.
Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate
Grande Provence in Franschoek is a very idyllic wine estate, with the fireplace only adding to the ambience come the cold, wet winter days of the Cape. The wine estate also boasts an art gallery and a shop, so your visit doesn’t have to end with a glass of wine and a crackling fire. Ultimately, you can’t go wrong here.
Pont De Val, Parys
People living in the Western Cape are spoilt for choice regarding wine farms. Then, Pont De Val in Parys in the Free State makes up for it. Just over an hour’s drive from Gauteng, you’ll find Pont De Val on the banks of the Vaal River. They produce a limited 5000 bottles of wine per year, sold exclusively at Pont de Val. Tastings are available at their Wine Bar. Moreover, this wine farm also offers a cosy fireplace where you can defrost your toes.
Jakkalsvlei, Garden Route
Jakkalsvlei wine and its fireplace will most certainly leave some sweet memories! Their wide range of classic wine varieties are known for its true reflection of the farm’s character. We urge you to visit them if you happen to be on the Garden Route this winter.
Kievits Kroon Wine Estate
With its comfortable couches and cosy fireplace, Kievits Kroon Wine Estate just outside of Pretoria is a daydream come true. Also, the Library Bar is ideal to spend some time at for pre-dinner drinks.
Winter, wine and fireplaces just work so well together. Stay cosy and warm with a fireplace and a glass of wooded Chardonnay.
