As much as the holiday season can be exciting, it can also be overwhelming. It seems like there is so much to do with so little time. Deciding on where to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and with whom, can be yet another obstacle.

Durban is holiday-maker central during December and January. To make your life easier, we are recommending our top six places in Durban where you can truly indulge in the festive spirit on 24 and 25 December 2024.

1. Coastlands Musgrave Hotel

Where: 315 Restaurant, Coastlands Musgrave Hotel, Musgrave

When: 25 December 2024

Time: 12:30 – 15:00

What: Celebrate Christmas Day with a scrumptious buffet-style lunch surrounded by family and friends. There will be a wide variety of dishes for starters, a multi-part main course and dessert. Welcome drinks and live entertainment will be the cherry on top.

2. The Chef’s Table

Where: The Chef’s Table, Protea Mall, uMhlanga Rocks

When: 24 or 25 December 2024

Time: From 18:00 or 11:30 respectively

What: Christmas Eve Dinner or Christmas Day Lunch at The Chef’s Table includes a four-course set menu plus a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival. In addition, children under twelve will be treated to a two-course menu too! With many cuisine choices, it will certainly feel a lot like Christmas from the moment you step into the restaurant.

3. The Royal Hotel

Where: The Royal Grill, The Royal Hotel, Durban

When: 25 December 2024

Time: 12:30 – 15:00

What: Surround yourself with family and friends at The Royal Hotel’s Christmas Day luncheon. A buffet with various cuisine options will be served whilst live entertainment and Christmas prizes are set to entertain the guests in attendance.

4. The Estuary Hotel and Spa

Where: The Fish Eagle Restaurant, The Estuary Hotel And Spa, Port Edward

When: 24 or 25 December 2024

Time: TBC

What: Turn Christmas into a real holiday by staying at The Estuary Hotel And Spa and joining in on their Christmas festivities. Their Christmas Eve Dinner and Christmas Day Lunch Menu includes soups, starters, salads, main course and desserts.

5. Zimbali Lodge

Where: Thandi Restaurant, Zimbali Coastal Estate, Ballitoville

What: Celebrate the day of giving with Zimbali Lodge at their Christmas Luncheon. With a delectable food menu and welcome drinks on arrival, the afternoon is set to be merry and bright.

What: With a three-course plated dinner, Christmas Eve at Radisson Blu will be one to remember. There is something for everyone, with a welcome drink on arrival and festive Christmas crackers.
