The Market Theatre Foundation, in partnership with ASSITEJ South Africa, proudly presents Pieces of Me—a deeply moving, real-life story from veteran South African actress Bo Petersen.
This critically acclaimed play is a raw and fiercely personal exploration of identity, race, and the transgenerational trauma of apartheid. Written and performed by Petersen herself, it delves into the hidden histories that shape us and the fragile threads that bind families together.
At 19, Bo Petersen uncovered a life-altering secret—one that reshaped her understanding of family forever. Her father, classified as Coloured under apartheid, had spent decades passing as White to evade the brutal restrictions of the era. His deception allowed him to marry the love of his life—Bo’s mother, a White woman unaware of his true origins—at a time when interracial marriage was illegal.
In discovering his secret, Bo became its guardian, forging a silent, unspoken pact with her father. To navigate the weight of this shared complicity, she began writing—fragmented reflections of his life, his passing, and ultimately, her own.

Tucked within the exclusive Korhaan River Estate, where fewer than 30 families share in the quiet luxury of open skies, river breeze and uninterrupted privacy, this remarkable property brings country living to life with elegance, intention, and a touch of soul.
Set along the gentle Leeuspruit River — just a short flow from the mighty Vaal — the estate unfolds across 70,500m² of manicured grounds, three shimmering dams, and sweeping lawns made for unhurried afternoons. It’s the kind of setting where mornings begin with birdsong and evenings settle beneath a canopy of stars — whether as a permanent sanctuary or a sophisticated weekend retreat from city rush.

This festive season calls for clinking glasses, bold flavours, and a touch of indulgence. From tropical twists with premium rums to reimagined classics that showcase South Africa’s heritage spirits, our cocktail line-up is designed to inspire your celebration.

For Mrs South Africa 2025 finalist Talitha Oosthuizen, the pageant is more than a crown—it’s a calling. With courage rooted in her faith and a voice devoted to those who cannot speak for themselves, she’s using her platform to bring light to South Africa’s darkest crisis: human trafficking.
