Thrilling Climax at the 360 Padel | Gayle SA Invitational

Padel may be the fastest-growing sport in the world, but at the 360 Padel | Gayle SA Invitational, it was more than just a game — it was a glamorous celebration of athletic excellence, style, and global star power. Over three dazzling days, Johannesburg became the epicentre of world-class padel, with courtside cheering, Nando’s feasting, and nail-biting matches setting the tone for a weekend to remember.

A Homegrown Triumph

The local spotlight belonged to Luan Krige and Jason Blakey Milner, who fought their way to victory in the SA Championship final. Their spectacular win over Aidan Carrazedo and Tremayne Mitchell had the crowd erupting in pride, proving that South African champions can shine just as brightly as their international counterparts. For fans, it was more than sport — it was a moment of national celebration. There really is no DNA, just RSA.

A Galaxy of International Icons

Then came the international spectacle. Team Los Galacticos, a glittering constellation of padel legends — Fernando Belasteguin, Ale Galan, Arturo Coello, Franco Stupaczuk, Pablo Cardona and Fran Guerrero — lit up the courts with precision, flair, and showmanship. Their rivals, Team Los Grandes, featuring stars like Agustin Tapia, Momo Gonzalez and Martin Di Nenno, brought power and passion, but ultimately fell 13–5 in a scoring system designed to raise the stakes with each passing day.

High Stakes, High Style

The innovative cumulative format — 1 point matches on Friday, 2 points on Saturday, and 3 on Sunday — kept tension soaring until the very last showdown. Off the court, the atmosphere was just as charged: padel fanatics mingled in VIP lounges with meet and greet stations, and the city’s social set turned out in full force to witness padel at its most glamorous.

A Fixture on the Global Stage

By blending elite competition with lifestyle allure, the SA Invitational has set itself apart as more than a tournament — it’s an unmissable fixture on the international sporting and social calendar. It was a weekend where padel met prestige, proving once again that South Africa knows how to host a world-class event in style.

The top 12 padel players in the world said this was a stunning way to spend their pre-season, before heading to Spain for the Madrid Open. Arturo Coello, tied number one in the world, repped a Springboks Rugby Jersey and said he cannot wait to be back on our glorious land. And, every single South African hopes that is true.
