JOMBA! Bodies of Water
Bodies Of Water is both a meditation and a ritual, unfolding against the vast presence of the Indian Ocean. The title carries a double meaning, as the work explores the ecology of water while reflecting on the fact that the human body itself is mostly water. Through movement, the dancers become living, breathing metaphors for climate justice, confronting what happens to bodies in moments of both personal and political upheaval.
Rooted in African geopolitics and set within a wider landscape of social disease, the production reimagines our relationship with “bodies of water”—as physical realities, as metaphors, and as vital sources of survival.
