SoftMotion by Duck Apparel: The Leggings That Do It All

From Hyrox simulations to Pilates flow

Running in Duck Apparel’s SoftMotion Leggings

In a world flooded with activewear, it’s rare to find leggings that strike the perfect balance between sculpting support and silky-soft comfort. Duck Apparel’s SoftMotion Leggings set out to do exactly that. After putting them through Hyrox simulations, gym sessions, pilates flows, yoga stretches, and road runs, they’re proving to be a strong new contender in the performance-wear space.

A Luxury Feel, Engineered for Movement

From the first touch, SoftMotion reads as premium. Crafted from a thoughtful blend of 75% Nylon and 25% Lycra, the fabric delivers that elevated, silky-smooth finish typically found in far pricier international brands. Duck Apparel’s design philosophy is straight to the point: “Simple. Better.”

But what sets them apart is the way they combine that softness with structure. The result is a legging that supports without squeezing, flatters without stiffness, and feels comfortable from the second you pull them on.

Other brands might lean too far in one direction — ultra-soft but unsupportive, or compressive but rigid. SoftMotion’s biggest success is how well it meets in the middle.

#HelloRecommends Movement That Feels Natural

As we slipped into our Cocoa Butter SoftMotion Leggings, the first thing we noticed was the fit — snug, sculpting, and instantly comfortable. They settled on the body like a second skin, allowing full freedom of movement without a single tug, twist, or adjustment.

The wide, structured waistband sits securely over the lower abdominals, offering a sense of support and stability that held up beautifully during our HYROX simulation and Hybrid Games sessions at Planet Fitness. No matter how much twisting, turning, pushing, pulling, or running we did, the leggings stayed put.

The fabric’s thickness and quality meant transparency was never a concern — they’re completely squat-proof — and the material’s flexibility made Pilates equally seamless, offering unrestricted mobility through every stretch and pose. The crotch area was thoughtfully designed, staying comfortable without digging or shifting, and they’re easily the stretchiest pair of leggings we own. After nearly five washes and wears, the SoftMotion fabric has retained both its elasticity and shape with zero complaints.

A Versatile Staple for the Modern Mover

After testing them across multiple disciplines, Duck Apparel’s SoftMotion Leggings stand out as an all-rounder.They’re the leggings you can wear from a high-intensity workout to a slow-stretch class to lounging on the couch — all without ever wanting to take them off.

Oh, What a Place! Inside Nando’s 38-Year Legacy

Not many people realise this, but Nando’s started with humble beginnings as a single restaurant in Rosettenville, Johannesburg, in 1987.
