Africa’s highest urban bar, we went for the sunset and stayed for the Moet

The Takeaway

If you’re in the pursuit of pleasure the Alto234 rooftop bar is spectacular. The minute you enter The Leonardo Hotel it will take your breath away, followed by a riveting elevator ride to the top, the tallest urban bar in Africa.

Side note: keep an eye out for the epic art collections throughout the hotel. Because you need to check in at reception on Level 3 for your Alto234 experience, you can have a quick squiz.

Upon exiting the lift you’ll immediately realize why you booked a sunset experience and why entry is R300pp. It is exquisite with a 360 degree view of the city, you can even spot the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria on a clear day. Now if you’re the type who likes to enjoy a few tapas and bubbles then this is just for you and is there a more romantic notion than drinking champagne whilst overlooking the city of gold?
