AURUM launches its winter menu
We don’t know about you, but for us, winter is a time of cuddling up close, indulging and celebrating the good things in life, like food! If you agree, then AURUM Restaurant’s winter menu might just be the first thing to add to your foodie bucket list this winter.
A menu inspired by the season
Head Chef, Michelle Biondi and her team have pulled out all the stops to create a winter menu that will have foodies flocking to the restaurant. In fact, many of the dishes come with a hint of nostalgia, while keeping to AURUM’s standards when it comes to satisfying the most discerning taste buds. Bondi says: “When creating the new menu, we drew a lot of inspiration from the feeling of winter rather than just putting items on the menu. We delved into what each dish meant to us and how it made us feel. It was important that we kept the comfort that food offers in winter at the core of our menu.”
Having experienced some of the dishes from the menu this week, we can confirm that AURUM has succeeded in putting exactly that on the plates. From divine canapés and even a couple of new cocktails, to delicious mains and unique desserts, it’s a dining experience like no other. Of course, AURUM’s impressive interior, the warm atmosphere created by its people and the lovely views outside add to the experience too.
Our favourite picks from the AURUM winter menu
We highly recommend kicking off your dinner with either the Pumpkin Soup, which comes with pear, créme fraîche and candied pecan nuts, or opt for the Tuna canapés, served with Asian marinade, ginger cream, Shimeji mushroom and orange. For mains, we had the lamb cutlets with an unusual, yet flavourful combination of pistachio, corn and pomegranate – a lovely, nostalgic winter dish for any foodie. For the finale, have a go at their Butterscotch Mousse, a rather refreshing, yet hearty dessert which comes with a delightful array of caramel, butterscotch and apple.
Of course, you should also try their new seasonal cocktails. While the Golden Truffle (a truffle washed gin with a homemade lemon syrup honey) had our palates confused, we enjoyed the Pepper Popping and the Bourbon Washed @234. The Pepper Popping cocktail is a moody rum red bell pepper syrup with cloudy apple and lemon juice. Alternatively, opt for the Bourbon Washed @234, which is a bacon and truffle oil washed bourbon sour.
Matthew Freemantle, AURUM’s Operations Manager says: “At AURUM, we are committed to providing the best dining experience for our guests, and the new winter menu is just one example of this commitment.”
