Cosy Meets Cool: Ackermans Drops Its Hottest Winter Looks

As a cold breeze whipped past our ears and tinged our noses pink, we sheltered at the temporary Ackerman’s Café at Pink Mamas, where fashion displays caught our eye — a bold showcase of winter-ready style. Think red coats layered over leopard-print dresses, cherry-red patent heels completing the look with flair. Inside, men’s essentials mix function with fashion: chunky sweaters, crisp jeans, and structured overcoats. However, little ones steal the show in puffers and playful beanies that are equal parts warm and cute.
Ackermans: South Africa’s #1 Baby & Kids Brand
Known as South Africa’s leading kids’ fashion brand, Ackermans has cemented its place in the lives of children and their parents. Furthermore, new items on the shelves include a weather-proof tracksuit set, little boots, Winter jackets and finally, sweaters with pictures of their favourite characters!
Additionally, for toddlers going on teens, Ackermans has launched 2-pack and 3-pack track tops, trainers and boots to keep little toes warm, more of their favourite character tops and Winter-ready puffer jackets.
But they’re not stopping there. Ackermans is reinvesting in their men’s section and placing renewed focus on women’s clothing. After all, their fashion brand is about the whole family looking great — without breaking the bank.
Ackermans Trend Alert: For South Africans, By South Africans
Ackermans is tapping into the latest fashion trends while adapting them for the South African market. Furthermore, this year’s winter colour palette features beiges, neutrals, deep maroons — and of course, plenty of denim.
Bronwyn Pretorius, Marketing Director for Ackermans, said: “We are positioning ourselves as the retailer for South Africans, by South Africans, with the intention of truly understanding our customers.”
Women can expect to see fashion-forward pieces like stylish jackets, perfectly knitted jumpers, colourful coats, gorgeous boots, and head-turning jeans. For men, the selection includes bomber jackets, jeans and trousers, knitted sweaters, and smart shoes to complete the look.
And, throughout their Winter Campaign, Ackermans reminds us: you’re never fully dressed without a smile.
Warm Hearts, Warm Coats: How Ackermans Gives Back
“When it comes to winter, there are so many people in South Africa who don’t have homes or access to quality clothing,” said Pretorius. “As the number one kids’ retailer in South Africa, we want to keep the country’s children warm, no matter what.”
In line with their Ububele Project, Ackermans donated puffer jackets and beanies to children in need as part of their Winter Collection launch. They partner with charities across the country, including the Do More Foundation, The Unlimited Child, and Food & Trees for Africa. After all, the biggest way to give back to a community is to look after its children. And, that is exactly what Ackermans strives to do every day.
Adrian Naude, CEO of Ackermans, added: “As a family-oriented brand, we are dedicated to supporting and empowering every generation on their journey to becoming their best selves. By fostering long-term, multi-faceted partnerships that resonate with our community, we are grateful to collaborate with impact partners who uplift youth, teens, and young adults worldwide. I am proud of our global team for their unwavering commitment to our partner organisations, and I’m excited about expanding our collective impact.”
New arrivals will be landing in Ackermans stores throughout May and June, bringing fresh fashion and seasonal style to South Africans — at a price that’s accessible to most.
