Epson Opens First Innovation Centre in South Africa

Epson, a global leader in innovative technology solutions, has just opened their Innovation Centre and new offices in Johannesburg. Now calling Fourways’ Monte Circle home, Epson is investing in Africa and supporting the region’s digital transformation.
Epson Innovation Centre as Symbol of Technological Evolution
Filled to the brim with Epson’s best and most prized technological products, the 530 square metre Innovation Centre showcases Epson brilliance. Furthermore, a strong emphasis is placed on increased sustainability and consumer needs in this space.
Timothy Thomas, country manager at Epson South Africa says: “The launch of our Innovation Centre in Johannesburg is part of our goal to expand our presence in South Africa and the broader African market. This centre not only showcases our latest innovations, but also provides a collaborative space for our partners and local businesses to engage with our products and explore how they can enhance sustainability and productivity. Our growing team in Johannesburg allows us to better serve the market and deliver tailored solutions that address the unique needs of our customers.”
Now, Epson has over 330 employees across the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Central West Asia (META-CWA) region with 10 offices in key markets. In addition, Epson invests over USD305-million annually in Research and Development to always create new sustainable, innovative solutions.
Neil Colquhoun, president of Epson META-CWA, adds: “Johannesburg has become a central technology hub in Southern Africa, with a thriving innovation ecosystem and growing influence in digital transformation. The city provides an ideal environment for Epson to collaborate with partners, develop cutting-edge solutions and meet the diverse needs of the region.”
Some of their flagship products on display include the EF-22 Portable Smart Laser Projector. Additionally, they display various EcoTank Printers with ultra-high-capacity Refillable Ink Tanks. Another is the energy-efficient WorkForce Enterprise Series Business Inkjet Printers. In essence, Epson proves that they have products for small businesses, large businesses, as well as the home.
How Epson is Tailored to You
Colquhoun says Epson’s business philosophy is “efficient, compact and precise innovation to enrich lives and help create a better world.” Thus, it offers business, personal and lifestyle solutions.
The idea of the Innovation Centre is bi-directional. Having a space to exhibit Epson products to clients and customers allows for feedback in the purest form. In fact, according to Colquhoun, they’re not just trying to sell the products to customers, but also listening to what they’re asking in terms of future product development. “Our insight from the customer drives the future product development,” Colquhoun says.
Epson technology is guaranteed to be long-lasting and fit-and-forget. Evidently, Colquhoun adds: “We are solving a problem for our end customer. What we do not want is to create more problems. So, if you put it in a technology that then starts to fail or has a lot of cost in terms of repairs and the environment, then that’s really not doing anyone any good.”
Epson also shared its ability to find a solution in your home, small office or big business. In an ideal Epson Home, you would find an EcoTank Printer – for school projects and documents. In addition, you might have one of Epson’s home cinema products like the projector.
Of course, one of Epson’s luxury watches would also come in handy, while adding to your look. And, considering your small or big business, there are endless opportunities for what you can find there. So, whether you need a printer for architecture purposes, signage, graphic designs or corporate documents, Epson’s got you covered.
Ultimately, Epson is for the home executive as much as it’s for the business owner. In fact, these technology solutions even have heat-free mechanisms that reduce ecological waste and ensure energy-efficiency when loadshedding hits.
