The 2024 Hermanus Whale Festival takes place from the 27 to 29 September. Here’s what you can expect at the festival:

  1. Interactive Eco-Marine Village: TFhere will be a focus on environmental conservation. The village will offer various activities where visitors can explore, discover, learn, and protect nature.
  2. Marine & Nature Talks: Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in the big Eco-Marine tent, these talks will likely cover topics related to marine life, conservation efforts, and environmental issues.
  3. Treasure Hunt for Kids: A fun activity for children in the Eco-Marine Tent on Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 2 pm.
  4. Kiddies Entertainment: Market Square will host rides and entertainment for the younger attendees.
  5. Street Parade: Taking place on Saturday morning, the parade will feature vintage and classic cars, Hawston cadets, and brass bands, adding a festive atmosphere to the event.
  6. Music Marquee and Beer Fest: Gearing’s Point will host a music marquee, with a beer festival on Saturday.
  7. 10km Fun Run: Scheduled for Saturday morning, this run is a great way to start the day with some exercise and community spirit.
  8. Whales and Wheels Classic Car Show: In Sandbaai, classic car enthusiasts can enjoy a showcase of vintage automobiles.
  9. Strongman Competition: On Sunday morning, witness the WP Challenge, where strong individuals compete in various tests of strength.
  10. Crafters and Food Trucks: Market Square will also feature craft vendors and food trucks.
