This November, men everywhere have permission to cheat on their barbers as The Market Theatre proudly presents Barber Shop Chronicles, making its long-awaited African premiere. This acclaimed global hit takes over the John Kani Theatre from 6 – 30 November 2025.
Set across six barbershops — in Johannesburg, Harare, Kampala, Lagos, Accra, and London — the play is a vibrant exploration of masculinity, vulnerability, and connection. Audiences are immersed in spaces where men gather for more than just a haircut — for conversation, laughter, debate, and healing. The play redefines the barbershop as a space where transformation happens — inside and out. Beneath the buzzing clippers and sharp fades lies community, truth, and brotherhood.
Barber Shop Chronicles tickets are available through Webtickets.
