A magical fairytale spectacle awaits in the school holidays – Cendrillon!
Cape Town Opera, in association with Abrahamse & Meyer Productions, is proud to present the South African premiere of Pauline Viardot’s 1904 opera, Cendrillon. The chamber opera, based on Charles Perrault’s fairytale Cinderella, tells the tale of the lovely but mistreated Marie (Cinderella) who slaves away in her father’s household, subservient to his demands and those of her sisters. With the help of her Fairy Godmother, she attends the Prince’s ball where they meet and fall in love, and Marie is subsequently saved from her wretched family to live happily ever after.
Expect spectacular costumes, sets and lighting in this enchanting family-friendly production that comes with all the glamour and glitter that opera has to offer! The creative team includes Fred Abrahamse and Marcel Meyer, and a stellar cast of Cape Town Opera Soloists, Chorus members and Judith Neilson Young Artists, including Brittany Smith, Luvo Rasemeni, Alida Scheepers, Van Wyk Venter, Tylor Lamani and Asisipho Petu. Musical direction by José Dias.
With thanks to Mr and Mrs Stanislas Yassukovich for their generous sponsorship of this production.

Tucked within the exclusive Korhaan River Estate, where fewer than 30 families share in the quiet luxury of open skies, river breeze and uninterrupted privacy, this remarkable property brings country living to life with elegance, intention, and a touch of soul.
Set along the gentle Leeuspruit River — just a short flow from the mighty Vaal — the estate unfolds across 70,500m² of manicured grounds, three shimmering dams, and sweeping lawns made for unhurried afternoons. It’s the kind of setting where mornings begin with birdsong and evenings settle beneath a canopy of stars — whether as a permanent sanctuary or a sophisticated weekend retreat from city rush.
