2024 marks the 27th edition of the George Old Car Show. The event will feature a remarkable display of eight original Mercedes-Benz 300SL sports cars, making it the largest gathering of these iconic vehicles in South Africa.
The Mercedes-Benz 300SL has a rich motorsport heritage dating back to 1954. This model originates from the Stuttgart-based manufacturer in international motor racing.
The 300SL was groundbreaking in terms of engineering, with the first petrol injection engine, a 3 liter camshaft and a dry-sump lubrication system.
Top speeds range from 235 to 263 km per hour. It also held the title of the fastest production car in the mid-1950s.
Book for the George Old Car Show via iTickets. For owners wishing to exhibit pre-1985 vehicles, pre-registration is recommended.
