Show your love and appreciation on Mother’s Day. Spoil mom with either a delectable 3-course lunch on Sunday 14 May 2023, or an indulgent Mother’s Day High Tea, available at the Cellars-Hohenort Hotel & Spa throughout the Mother’s Day weekend (12 to 14 May 2023).

Mother’s Day Lunch

The lunch feast will be served in the Conservatory Restaurant. It is inspired by flowers – the epitome of femininity – and it’s presented as a token of love and appreciation. The menu kicks off with a choice between Klein Karoo ostrich with beetroot, peppered-sorghum and rose petal jam. Alternatively, opt for the Heirloom tomato tartare with pickled mustard, basil, nasturtium pesto, cranberry oil and buckwheat tuile.

Mains offer a trifecta of delicious choices. Options include dry-aged beef sirloin with wild garlic potato fondant, grilled artichoke hearts, coconut-lavender marshmallow and red grape; Red drum sea-bass with white truffle pommes dauphine, cauliflower and zucchini blossom salad; or Grilled cauliflower with white bean and almond velouté, African red pepper pesto, sunchoke and salsa verde. End things on a sweet and memorable note with either the Hibiscus mille-feuille, or Camomile panna cotta.

High Tea with Mom

The Cellars-Hohenort’s decadent Mother’s Day High Tea is served over four courses. It begins with a selection of tea sandwiches, followed by a second savoury course of Duck larb and lavender chilli jam; shredded lamb slider and minted tzatziki; stuffed zucchini blossom and coriander truffle pesto; oak-smoked chicken croquette and nasturtium aioli; and artichoke arancini with grapefruit. The next highlight includes buttery scones with hibiscus jam and Chantilly cream. Then, the grand finale: An irresistible selection of pâtissières.

The high tea comes with a choice of eleven loose-leaf teas. Each tea blend is meticulously curated by Master Tea Blender, Mingwei Tsai, who has also created a unique Cellars-Hohenort Blend of Nigiro tea. This tea incorporates the spicy fragrance and bronze-apricot colour of the Liz McGrath Rose.

Take Mom for a stroll around the iconic gardens of the hotel spread over nine acres. The grounds contain a myriad of delights – from trees dating back 300 years, to structured gardens with beautiful water features and ponds.
