Jazz Appreciation Month 2025
In celebration of International Jazz Day, the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, in collaboration with the Centre for Creative Arts and the South African Association for Jazz Education, invites you to a five-day programme of performances and conversations.
Taking inspiration from the global spirit of UNESCO’s International Jazz Day on 30 April—and echoing the theme for Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) 2025, “Who’s Got the Map?”—the series borrows its title from Andile Yenana’s groundbreaking 2005 album.
Marking its 20th anniversary this year, Yenana’s work remains a bold, boundary-pushing contribution to South African jazz.
