Playtopia Festival 2024

Playtopia is Africa’s first-ever annual festival dedicated to Indie Games and Immersive Arts. The highlight of the festival is the arcade, where attendees can spend hours exploring indie game gems.

The summit spans two days of insightful talks and panels, with leading figures from the global and African game development community sharing their expertise.

Our beloved Super Friendship Arcade returns with their innovative custom controllers and games that inspire playful, immersive experiences—perfect for gamers of all skill levels.

Festival Details

Playtopia is a non-profit, family-friendly festival that celebrates game design, with the goal of drawing more attention to Africa’s growing industry.

• Main Event Dates: December 6-7, 2024
• Times: 09:00 – 22:00 (Friday) | 09:00 – 21:00 (Saturday)
• Location: Featuring bars, food zones, chill spaces, and a rooftop terrace
• Special Events: Delegates-only pre-party on December 5th and an exclusive after-party on December 7th at Botaník, hosted by Diskotekah.
