Seasonal Sips & Soups Tasting At Spier

As the winter chill sets in, prompting thicker coats and earlier nights, Spier introduces a cosy antidote to the cold. From May 1 to September 30, 2024, visitors can indulge in the new ‘Seasonal Sips & Soups’ Tasting.

This seasonal offering pairs four of Spier’s award-winning wines with four comforting dishes, designed to warm guests from within. This tasting celebrates the transition in seasons, making it a perfect escape from the cold.

The new tasting features a delightful journey through four curated pairings:

1. Creamy Pea Velouté
   • Silky smooth pea soup, topped with whipped goat cheese and a crispy parmesan tuile
   • Paired with Spier’s Good Natured Sauvignon Blanc, reflecting Spier’s dedication to regenerative and socially conscious business
2. Earthy Forest Mushroom Consommé
   • Rich, flavorful broth brimming with sautéed forest mushrooms and a subtle touch of truffle espuma
   • Complemented beautifully by Spier’s 21 Gables Chenin Blanc, enhancing the earthy depths of both the soup and the wine
3. Decadent Stilton Velouté
   • Creamy cauliflower soup infused with Stilton Blue cheese, served with a sable biscuit topped with fresh garden herbs and tangy pickled onion
   • Expertly complemented by Spier’s Seaward Chardonnay, which highlights the dish with its creamy texture and vibrant acidity
4. Rich Chocolate Tart
   • Delicious dessert combining intense dark chocolate flavours with a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt
   • Served with Spier’s award-winning First Stone Organic Red
