Shared Roots: A Visual Journey of Cultural Connections Between Brazil & SA
Nestled in Sea Point, Cape Town, the Nosso décor and lifestyle store unfurls a vibrant cultural panorama throughout February.
Renowned Brazilian photographer Renata Larroyd unveils her inaugural solo exhibition, “Shared Roots,” in South Africa, beckoning spectators on a visual expedition delving into the profound cultural interconnections between her homeland and this lively corner of Africa.
“Shared Roots,” her exhibition, scrutinizes the impact of African culture on everyday life in Brazil. Through her lens, she dissects the cultural connections between Brazil and South Africa, spotlighting Afro-Brazilian religions, musical traditions, and the profound resonance of African rhythms.
Visitors can anticipate more than an exhibition of photographs. Renata will lead an interactive storytelling session on the opening night, providing insights into the cultural contexts and personal narratives. Limited edition prints will also be on offer.
The exhibition commences on Monday, 5 February, at 5 pm at the Nosso store, situated at 67A Regent Street, Sea Point.
