Sunrise Walk

Enjoy an early morning sunrise walk and witness the breathtaking Umhlanga dawn along the enchanting east coast as you join us for a leisurely beach, promenade & forest.

Explore the renowned Whale Bone Pier, marvel at the iconic Umhlanga Lighthouse, stroll along the tranquil Umhlanga Lagoon boardwalk, venture into the lower section of the Hawaan Forest, and relish a stop at the beloved Forest Cafe.

Sunrise Walk Details:

• Time: Gather at 5am for a prompt departure at 5.15am.
• Location: Meet at the Durban View Main Carpark.
• Distance: Approximately 6km.
• Duration: Anticipate a delightful 3-hour journey.
• Difficulty: This is a gentle stroll encompassing the promenade, lagoon, forest, and sandy beaches.
• Cost: Admission is R99 per person. Book your sunrise walk tickets here.
• What to Bring: Wear comfortable walking shoes, pack snacks and water, and don’t forget a backpack to carry your essentials. Bring cash for coffee or breakfast at Forest Cafe.
• All are welcome, including children and well-behaved canine companions!
• Please note: Dogs are permitted on the promenade while leashed, but they are not allowed in the nature reserve.
