The World’s First ‘Symphony in Sea Major’
Do you enjoy live classical music concerts? Then this is one event you need to add to your event calendar. Experience a classical music performance amidst the beauty of the Cape Winelands at Rhebokskloof’s beautiful estate where the art of music harmonises with the pristine natural environment of the Paarl wine valley.
Fire Island Conservation will be hosting the world’s first concert tour for sea turtles – a Symphony in Sea Major – featuring the internationally acclaimed Viennese Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra. This is the first event of its kind, leading up to a 2025 World Tour that will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Austrian composer, Johann Strauss.
During this year’s tour, the orchestra will be visiting venues across Southern Africa in March and April, with various public and private events. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go toward Fire Island Conservation’s efforts to rehabilitate and protect the sea turtle.
Coinciding with Easter Weekend, Saturday, 8 April will be extra special for guests of all ages. Families and groups can enjoy a beautiful Symphony in Sea Major on the lawns by the lake with a picnic, or guests can bring their own food. There will also be a special play area for kids on the day.
