Waddle For The African Penguin
In just a century, the population of African penguins has plummeted from over 1.5 million to fewer than 10,000 pairs today. Their plight is critical, and despite the efforts of numerous dedicated organizations working tirelessly to ensure their survival, African penguins still require public backing to secure the necessary policies and protections to prevent extinction.
To support this campaign, the Two Oceans Aquarium, SANCCOB, CapeRADD, and I AM WATER invite the community to participate in a “waddle” from Muizenberg to Simon’s Town on 12 October 2024, in honor of African Penguin Awareness Day. There will also be a shorter route available for families with children or those who may not be able to walk the entire distance.
