On Sunday, 25 February 2024, Rudd will take to the Joburg stage at Marks Park in Emmarentia, captivating South Africans with his soulful, earthy sound. While tickets are available here, one lucky reader can win tickets for themselves and three friends to see the artist perform.
It was in 2021 that Xavier Rudd released his tenth studio album, Jan Jun Moon, showcasing his creativity and excitement with a blend of natural sounds and trippy analog synthesizers. He also toured to Europe twice in the past two years, stopping at Glastonbury, Pinkpop and Rock Werchter festivals along the way.
In addition, Rudd was recently awarded the Australasian Performing Right Association Award (APRA Award) for Most Performed Blues and Roots Work. This was for his single, We Deserve To Dream. He later also took the 2023 Environmental Music Prize.
Xavier Rudd is a distinctly Australian-looking musician, activist and surfer and his music lures people from all over the world. His performances feature his signature acoustic guitar and a complex array of didgeridoos and percussion.
