Grit Space
Nomads, this one’s for you! The popular Grit Space, located at The Village in Pretoria’s famous Hazelwood neighbourhood, recently opened another workspace – this time, in the quieter, boomed-off Lynnwood Gardens Estate.
Grit Space Expands
Although different to the hustle and bustle of The Village, this new space still has the add-on of awesome new retail facilities in the same development. Also, it’s twice the size, with a larger reception and lounge area, two more boardrooms and braai facilities for tenants. True to their original style, you can expect a very similar look and feel at the new space, with high quality, modern furniture, glass, aluminum, laminated flooring and more. Says co-owner, Lukas van der Westhuizen: “Probably the biggest difference is that we are using more of our blue than our pink.”
Planning Ahead
Having been in the game for a couple of years now, Lukas says they have found that more and more people prefer dedicated, closed spaces to work in. That said, they firmly believe that the future of shared office space is very favourable. “When times are tough, larger companies scale down and decentralise. When things are going well in the economy, smaller companies grow out of their home-based work environments and need small, but efficient workspaces. Combined with boardrooms, one can book for meetings, reception services and registered office addresses.” It’s a business model bound to grow.
What To Expect
The new space includes furnished office spaces (open and closed), high-speed internet, registered address availability, quality reception and telephone services, a lounge, three boardrooms, secure and dedicated parking options, printing facilities and, most importantly, coffee. The plan is also to host personal and business development events and networking opportunities, with at least one event planned for this year still.
Ultimately, it’s all about creating a professional, yet fun working environment where like-minded people can share an office space. “We have a small, inclusive vibe, to ensure we can care about our tenants and give them the focus, attention and time they would expect, and more,” says Lukas.
