Insta-worthy pod stay in Tshwane
On a blustery day in Tshwane, AKA. Pretoria, 45 minutes outside of the city, you’ll find this quaint little cabin sitting pretty in the woods. It is known as the Big Pod and forms part of the tiny house collection in Cabinville at the Rosemary Hill Farm.
If you’ve been dreaming of a city escape as much as we have, lockdown is now lifted so we can finally venture out into the wild. Your first stop ought to be this off-grid, whimsical, fantastical haven. And if you’re traveling as a family even better because the pod sleeps four adults comfortably and two kiddies, it has a well-equipped kitchen, bedroom downstairs, loft bedroom upstairs and a wooden patio with sun loungers and an outdoors work space.
Incorporating every bit of space, it’s a tiny pod that is actually surprisingly spacious and brilliantly designed. You have everything you want and need and because you’re always circulating between rooms, its just so conveniently designed and sized.
As you enter the pod you’ll instantly get the sense of familiarity, it feels like home, only smaller and cuter. The pod melts seamlessly into its surroundings. This unique collection of pods and cabins is an echo of nature and the minimalist way of living, which has fast become a quick inspiration for all. This structure, this imagined environment lends itself to a slower way of living.
#HelloRecommends booking a 2 night stay. There is a restaurant on site and the pod itself is self catering. In front of all the pods are beautiful sweeping views (especially over sunset) and spacious grounds for the little ones to frolic in the sunshine. You can also order take out so you definitely wont need to cook. Rather snuggle up under the blankets with a good book and a pizza and unwind.
There are lovely hiking trails, trail runs, bike tracks, horse stables, picnics and a maze to enjoy. Perfect for an off-the-grid escape!
