HLM: Vicky, we’re excited to hear about your partnership with New Balance and the “Run Your Way” campaign. Can you tell us more about it?

VR: Absolutely! New Balance has collaborated with the vibrant local coffee shop, Croft & Co., to create a supportive and inclusive running community. The “Run Your Way” campaign aims to encourage runners of all levels to embrace their unique running styles and connect with like-minded individuals. Together, we’re hosting daily runs, monthly events led by industry experts, and the highly anticipated Last Fast Thursday, where participants can test New Balance’s latest innovations.

HLM: Your personal story of overcoming challenges is inspiring. How did running become such a significant part of your life?

VR: Initially, I saw running as merely a means to lose weight. However, I underwent a transformative shift when I shifted my perspective and rediscovered my love for the sport. Running became a source of joy, empowerment, and personal growth for me. I want to share this journey and help others find their passion for running.

HLM: Setting attainable goals is crucial. How can one establish a balanced running routine?

VR: Consistency is key. Create a regular schedule that includes distance runs, speed workouts, and recovery runs. Remember to prioritise self-care and recovery, incorporating rest days, stretching, and proper nutrition into your routine.

HLM: Discovering one’s running style is essential for peak performance. Can you share some tips for our readers?

VR: Pay attention to your body’s natural movement, foot strikes, stride length, and cadence. Maintain proper posture and seek feedback from experienced runners or coaches. Embrace your uniqueness and trust what feels natural and effective for you.
