Joburg’s answer to tasteless, kid-friendly restaurants has arrived

Chef Luke Dale Roberts is one of the country’s best-known chefs so you can imagine how excited we were to discover that he was involved in the launch of a new restaurant opening in the heart of Rosebank. JoyJozi opened last week just opposite the very popular Oxford Parks Centre, where Luke already has two well-established eateries and has all the ingredients for a very magical destination. This one-of-a-kind experience is filled with joy, fun, laughter and excitement. A place where children can take their parents and kids of all ages are welcome.

A magical playground for children of all ages

The restaurant and play centre is located in a refurbished mansion with multiple dining areas and several play zones. Kids from 0 to 100 are encouraged to explore, discover, entertain and even get up to a little mischief while their parents sit back, relax and enjoy excellent food and artisanal cocktails in a lush tropical garden setting. Safety is a top priority at the restaurant and that’s why they have employed the services of multiple childminders to oversee all activities on the property.

Items on the menu don’t come cheap. However, considering the restaurants location and dishes crafted with the finest ingredients by some of the best chefs in the city, we can forgive them for charging R560 for a Wagyu Ribeye. The selection is brief but varied and diners can enjoy anything from a wood-fired Funguy pizza that has mushrooms, chili oil, chives, Bianco base and fior di latte (a type of mozzarella cheese) for R142 to a TTK Fried Tofu Burger with grilled pineapple, sesame aioli and fries for R135.

The star of the show has to be their Gourmet Milkshakes which range from R70 to R95. We highly recommend the S’More Indulgence which consists of a chocolate shake base with extra melted chocolate, crushed biscuit and roasted marshmallows! WOW!
