#RedFest2025: One of Joburg’s Favourite Art Weekends Returns

Redhill School is once again the proud host of one of Johannesburg’s favourite art weekends: RedFest 2025. Transforming into the city’s cultural epicentre, Redhill School promises four full days of unforgettable artistic and creative experiences. RedFest 2025 is taking place over the Youth Day long weekend (Friday, 13 June – Monday, 16 June).
RedFest 2025: Who, What & Why
This year’s RedFest programme combines dynamic live music, powerful theatre, children’s entertainment, a buzzing artisanal market, immersive art exhibitions and a curated comedy festival.
Joseph Gerassi, Executive Head of Redhill School and Festival Director, said: “RedFest has always been about access, inspiration and community. It’s where world-class acts meet emerging voices, and where families, artists and audiences come together to celebrate everything that makes the arts in South Africa so vibrant.”
Live Music
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday night, South Africa’s most acclaimed musicians will grace the main stage. Friday sees Booshle G taking centre stage. Saturday’s stage will be lit up by Matthew Mole, Mzansi Youth Choir and Rubber Duc. Lastly, Sunday sees Arno Carstens, Zolani Mahola and Wavelength City.
Live Theatre Performances
Twenty theatre productions will be performed live throughout RedFest 2025. These include: Growing Old Disgracefully, Next Level, Kidding, The King of Broken Things, You Strike a Woman You Strike a Rock and A Doll’s Life. There will also be two comedy festival lineups and a world-class magic show.
