Shortmarket Club Finds New Home At The Greenhouse Sandton

Sandton’s foodie scene just got upgraded with The Greenhouse becoming the new home of the legendary Shortmarket Club. This collaboration marks a new era of culinary excellence alongside sensory experiences.
Shortmarket Club is The Greenhouse’s New Muse
The Greenhouse in Sandton is known as Joburg’s pioneering supper club – a concept that reimagines experiences to seamlessly flow from one to the other. Here, sundowner cocktails evolve into decadent dinners which later become late-night dancing. In fact, the space constantly adapts to the vibe of the night, with patrons setting the scene.
The space’s newly launched menu boasts dishes from South African chef, Siya Mlaba, who cleverly combines Mediterranean, French and Asian cuisine. This menu hails from none other than Shortmarket Club, a fine-dining experience that delivers elevated culinary masterpieces.
In essence, the partnership comes as a product of hospitality entrepreneurs, Heinz Rynners, Luke Dakers and Ben Stanger. Together, they constantly push culinary boundaries and hospitality limits to create high-end dining experiences. In fact, they believe in anything but ordinary, which is why you’ll soon also be introduced to Ocaso – their new Mexican culinary concept in partnership with Corona.
Shortmarket’s Cuisine Now Served From The Greenhouse’s Kitchen
Expect starters like a juicy rump steak tartare with bruschetta or a creamy burrata with basil pesto and a balsamic glaze. Alternatively, a sesame-crusted seared tuna with ponzu sauce is on offer or crispy halloumi drizzled in hot honey. Smaller dishes include a mezze platter or spring rolls with a sweet chilli mayo dip.
Mains come in the form of flame-grilled lamb chops and a decadent 950g T-bone in a peppercorn sauce. Alternatively, fresh seafood appears in a prawn bisque with grilled jumbo prawns, whilst Italian options include Parmesan-laced truffle risotto and creamy chicken pasta. Vegetarians and vegans are also spoiled for choice with options like grilled cauliflower and roast pepper humus platters.
Of course, dessert is the show-stopper, with rich chocolate fondant, blueberry crème brûlée or a classic brownie with vanilla ice cream as some of the available choices.
Throughout the experience, be sure to try their iconic signature cocktails. These include the Boujee Bitch, Watermelon Fix, Berry Deluxe, The G-Spot, Henny Pot and Daytime Dreaming.
The Greenhouse operates from Thursdays through to Saturdays, from 16:00 ’til late. Why not give their new menu a taste-test this weekend and dance the week’s woes away?
