To the people food is heaven – welcome Shun De Oriental Restaurant

Table and chairs in Chinese restaurant

The newly opened Shun De oriental restaurant at Carnival City, offers a truly delectable Asian experience, with an extensive menu of mouth-watering traditional Chinese cuisine.

Chefs at the Chinese-owned eatery use the freshest local produce and the highest quality special ingredients to produce their dishes, which range from fish to chicken, duck, beef, pork, seafood and vegetables.

With the Chinese New Year just passed on February 1st, diners can enjoy perennial favourites such as spring rolls, dumplings, oyster beef, sweet and sour pork and cashew chicken served with staples such as fried noodles and egg fried rice.

To the ruler, the people are heaven; to the people, food is heaven.

Study the extensive menu further and try some of the other lesser known, but equally delicious dishes. These include griddle dishes, soups, classic congee rice porridges and Chongqing grilled dishes. Or gather with friends and family around a Chongqing steamboat hotpot and participate in the fondue-like process of selecting ingredients to cook in a spicy rich, flavoursome broth. Also, try the aromatic red oil mandarin duck hot pot, a spice explosion for those who like their food hot.

Other flavourful meals include the sticky pork ribs glazed in Chinese five-spice, honey and soy, melt in the mouth tender dongjiang salt baked chicken, juicy steamed seabass in a delicious black bean sauce, or crunchy deep-fried prawns.

There are a number of vegetarian options including freshly made tofu.

Round off the perfect meal on a sweet note with flavours of ginger, mango and coconut as a pudding or cake.

Shun De is located at Carnival City and is open from 11h00 to 22h00 daily.
