Greek Food Festival, Melrose

If you’re anything like us, you’re a sucker for a Spanakopita… followed by a delicious block of baklava, of course. Indulge in the finest Greek cuisine at the Greek Food Festival this weekend. Sample a bit of everything as you stroll from stall to stall or savour a hearty sit-down lunch. By the way, their home-made gelato is absolutely to die for. With live music from 15:00, Greek dancing all night and a jumping castle for the kiddies, there’s no shortage of entertainment. And yes, you get to finish with a traditional plate-smashing!

Beach babes, assemble! The City  Beach Club is a hot, newly-opened rooftop venue in Braam and it’s the place to be this weekend. Experience a unique bar-by-the-beach vibe and party to a fresh lineup of DJs all day long as you enjoy a couple cold ones or cocktails.

Top things to do in Cape Town

Sunkissed Salsa, Sea Point

Every other Sunday, for the duration of summer, Sunkissed Summer Salsa Season invites you to dust off your dancing shoes for an incredible Afro-Latin gathering, al fresco. Hosted at the Sea Point Pavilion Forecourt, the views are as beautiful as the vibes are infectious. With a selection of salsa, bachata and kizomba beats going all day, you’re in for a proper party. Dancing is thirsty work, so quench your thirst and satisfy your appetite at the nearby kiosks afterwards.

The award-winning musical sees Elle Woods transform from fashion-conscious sorority girl to Harvard Law School lawyer, soundtracked by clever, catchy tunes like “Bend & Snap”, “Omigod You Guys” and tonnes more.

Bringing to life – in technicolour, we might add – his hit show, I’m Viral, Joubert showcases his talent through a compilation of classics by some of the greatest artists in history. Expect hits like Prince’ Purple Rain, Queen’s Somebody To Love and some of his own compositions in both English and Afrikaans. Tickets are sold out for Friday’s show, so don’t wait too long to book yours for Saturday.
