Two of our best and hottest new hangouts in Joburg
While we are busy playing catch up, thanks to Covid, we have been exploring Jozi’s nightlife scene like never before and it is buzzing.
Going out has never been more fun and so we wanted to introduce you to two of our favorite brand new hot-spots. There is a whole new slew of new hangouts in Joburg but trust us these two ensure a historic experience.
1. Solo Sandton
if you're after a buzzy boujee evening
This newcomer in Sandton is oh so snazzy but in all the right ways. Yes it’s smart and sophisticated, yes you should wear a collared shirt and heels however don’t be intimidated by this elegant atmosphere and for sure one of our top new hangouts in Joburg. It’s worth dressing up for and snagging a table inside by the magical arched wine cellar is a major instagram moment. Tick.
The menu created by Ashley Murison-Johnson includes so many highlights but here were our favorites:
Their crispy fried mushroom risotto balls of goodness. These arancini balls need to be devoured and then order another portion as its a small tapas serving.
The noble wild mushroom risotto, perfectly seasoned, cooked al dente and so creamy and pungently delectable.
Don’t leave without trying their signature sushi, volcano rolls,dragon rolls, prawn avalanche or the wicked tuna crunch, it’s all excellent.
The talent and experience in the kitchen is evident and its just an all round terrific spot to wine and dine all night long.
Just two months into operations and this dazzling spot has taken over Greenside. Finally a decent spot to swig back a few. The upstairs is hidden from the road, but when you walk up those stairs, its a vision you won’t ever forget. The highlight is the vibe.
As you enter blue neon lights ‘Lets Get Weird’ is your welcoming with pink neon ‘F What People Think’ as you arrive at your table. This spot will complicate your weekly schedule because you wanna keep going back. Not only is it something shiny and new but it is actually cool.

Tuesday is 2 for 1 pizza and free hubbly rental.
Wednesday & Thursday are R350 for any 4 tapas.
Friday is R350 for any 4 tapas and a bubbly special from 1pm-5pm.
Saturday & Sunday are R350 for any 4 tapas and R200 for bottomless mimosas from 10am-1pm.
Also you cannot leave without dancing on the table,watching the sunset with one of their famous cocktail jugs and a bowl of cheesy, gooey, delicious nachos.
