The sheltered cove between Simon’s Town and Cape Point – Boulders Beach – is world renowned for its thriving colony of African Penguins – an endangered species in the Red Data Book. Seeing these penguins waddle around on this beach is something truly unique and special and promises to be quite an exciting family outing. From just two breeding pairs in 1982, the penguin colony has grown to about 2200 in recent years. The penguins are best viewed from Foxy Bay, where there are boardwalks that take visitors to these amazing creatures.

The Wolfberg Cracks hike is one of those hikes you just have to do at least once in your life. Whether it’s for a mother-daughter bonding weekend or a long weekend with the family, the 16km hike in the Cederberg is bound to bring you and your dearest closer together again. The hike is known for its fiery rock formations and the Wolfberg Arch. Just being in nature with those you love, experiencing the magnificence of it all and celebrating this piece of Africa, is something we can highly recommend.
