Celebrate South African music, heritage, food and wine at the Drumstruck museum-theatre experience. Hosted by the Silvermist Wine Estate perched atop Constantia Nek, the afternoon and evening will be filled with beautiful views and the rhythmic sound of drums.
About The Interactive Drum-Theatre Show
Drumstruck is first and foremost a musical performance showcasing the melodic nature of drums in South Africa. The show has travelled around the world for over a decade and they even featured in an eighteen-month stint off-Broadway. Additionally, they’ve also shared the stage with country music icon, Dolly Parton.
There is a twist in these shows, though. Each audience member gets to play their own drum to their own beat.
Initially, the museum side of things kicks off with a display of one of the country’s largest collections of indigenous African instruments. Essentially, this allows the audience to explore the musical heritage of Southern Africa. This includes the very first drum, right through to the latest, electronic instrumental sets.
What Else Can You Experience?
Winners of the tickets will get to experience a Drumstruck performance, as well as the museum tour. Further to this, there are extra gems to add to the experience.
Firstly, Silvermist hosts a wine-tasting event featuring four exclusive Constantia Valley wines. So, you can watch the Drumstruck team groove on stage whilst sipping on wines chosen by Silvermist’s winemaker, Gregory Louw. If you aren’t a wine-lover, there is also an ice-tea tasting as an alternative.
Secondly, the Drumstruck experience wouldn’t be complete without an authentic, South African braai – the ultimate culinary experience in our country. Patrons are invited to feast on three meats, traditional sides, chakalaka, garlic bread, salads and desserts. And, as you overlooking the beautiful sunset, the Drumstruck Marimba Band will entertain you well into the night.

Tickets are redeemable at any Drumstruck performance from December onwards. While performances run every weekend in October and November 2024, the show will run twice daily from Wednesday to Sunday (at 11:30 and 15:30) from December 2024 through to April 2025.
