The Showmax Original, Outlaws premiered on 6 September 2023, with new episodes every Wednesday. It’s set in a lush, but lawless land on the border of Lesotho and Kwazulu-Natal and tells the story of two families at war. The Zulu, cattle-farming Biyela clan and the Basotho, cattle-raiding Tseoles make for a proper South African contemporary Western, building on the success of Tshedza Pictures’ Adulting. The latter set a record for the most first-day views of any drama on Showmax in March 2023.
