4 Ways to Elevate Your Drinks with Gourmet Ice
In mixology, every element counts. From the choice of spirit to the careful selection of garnish, it’s all about attention to detail. Elements like flavour, texture and presentation can be the difference between merely good drink and an amazing cocktail. Gourmet Ice & Co. – a company speciailising in ice infusion – shares four ways to transform ordinary drinks into extraordinary experiences with ice.
Elevate Your Cocktails with Gourmet Ice
If we’re being honest, you simply can’t go wrong with a classic gin and tonic. Something about the combination of flavours just hits the right spot every time. However, if you’re looking for a way to take your G&Ts to the next level, consider adding your own homemade gourmet ice. Our favourite combination for G&Ts is mixed berry and mint cubes. The sweet berries and fresh mint complement the flavours of the G&T wonderfully. Also, it’s a lot easier to make than you think.
Infuse Your Ice to add a Dash of Flavour
Similar to the mixed berry and mint cubes, infusing your ice can add a dash of colour and excitement to your drink. So, to add a dash of flavour, consider adding a splash of lime juice or even lime cordial. As the ice melts, the flavours of the juice or cordial will begin infuse your drink. We especially love the lime cordial infused cubes with vodka and soda. You can infuse your ice with any juice or cordial, as long as you don’t use alcohol, as it won’t freeze.
Make a Statement with Edible Flowers
When it comes to presentation, we’re all about going the extra mile. For an exceptionally elegant touch to your glass of bubbly, consider adding an ice cube with a cute flower frozen inside. This is less about actually changing the flavour of your drink and more about creating stunning visuals and, subsequently, Instagram-worthy drinks. We’re not going to get too scientific about it, but if you want to go as far as nibbling on a defrosted petal, you might even get a boost of antioxidants and vitamins.
Elevate Your Mocktails
Often, non-alcoholic options are overlooked and underserved, but it doesn’t have to be that way. On the contrary, gourmet ice is perfect for taking your non-alcoholic drink and adding a sprinkle of love to it. We’re done with drab! Any of the previously mentioned gourmet ice options can turn even sparkling water into a bubbly spectacle and we’ll happily cheers to that.
