48 hour unforgettable trip to the Cape but with an epic art excursion

We’re pretty certain this artsy excursion travel experience has a waiting list already because it is truly an unforgettable adventure. Ideal for staying warm and toasty in winter or venturing into the sunshine filled streets through the summer season.

Why do the Cape in the usual repetitive way? Rather go for this unique experience at Cape Country Routes, owner operated and managed, Eendracht Hotel & Apartments in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch. This budget hotel was built in 1710 and is situated in the oldest part of Stellenbosch, the building is a landmark in itself and offers an intimate boutique style hotel stay. This is where you can get the most out of your surroundings and explore this historical winelands town like never before. Of course this trip includes vino but it features an additional art expedition as well as a little adventure too.

If you prefer self catering, they also offer three newly refurbished self-catering units in a restored 1928 art deco-styled house. But don’t fret not many changes were made to the buildings facade.

What to expect: This 48 hour stay in Stellenbosch includes two nights accommodation at the delightful Eendracht Hotel & Apartments, pre-dinner wine and snacks at the pool, full breakfast served daily and a two-course lunch at their in house restaurant, Senobia’s (with a free glass of wine or a cappuccino). And no you won’t be judged for coming to breakfast in a tracksuit, that is the hotels appeal, feel as if you’re at home.

Activities include a 2.5 hour long Loud Idea Art Walking tour of Stellenbosch, a self-drive visit to the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden and a wine tasting at Brampton Wine Studio.

All this for only R1 864 per person it really is a no-brainer.

#HelloRecommends Including the E-Bike tour. Spend an active outdoor day with your plus one on a guided E-Bike tour from Stellenbosch to Boschendal via the Stellenbosch Trail Fund trails through town and up into Idas Valley and the Banhoek Conservancy trails. Afterwards indulge in a bountiful brunch at Boschendal. Basically, you cannot visit Stellies and not make a stop at this wine farm. So affordable and accessible and with a barefoot picnic ambience with the regular ducklings, we love this wine estate.

Pre-pandemic the hotel relied on international guests but have been welcomed with open arms by locals, which stands as a true testament to the hotels offerings and excellent level of service. It even still managed to retain its spirit and just ticks all the boxes for a memorable hotel stay. You’ll feel rooted and as if you were lazing in a charming guest house in Scotland. Cosy and so lovely, this is a seemingly never-ending 2 day holiday.

There’s not really much more you could ask for.
