Car S.O.S season 10 starts on Nat Geo this coming week
Season 10 of the top-rated car restoration show, Car S.O.S will be returning to National Geographic (DStv, channel 181). The show airs on Tuesday evenings at 19:00 (CAT).
This season looks to be a showstopper and tearjerker. Coupled with celebrity guests and cameos from David Beckham, Sir Paul McCartney and famous TV mechanic Edd China to mention a few. Here’s why we think Car S.O.S should be added to your winter entertainment schedule.
Who's in this season
Each new episode features a different heart-warming story from owners who deserve the chance to have their treasured classics fully restored.
Car enthusiast Tim Shaw and master mechanic Fuzz Townshend are joined by special guest stars, including ex-England football legends Bryan Robson and Wes Brown. In addition, Bryan and Wes are on hand to lend their time, and moral support to a very special reveal at Old Trafford stadium.
It could be an emotional ride for some
The tenth series begins with an incredible makeover of a Fiat Uno Turbo, which was once the pride and joy of Gerry. Furthermore Gerry recently discovered that he was suffering from a rare form of blood cancer, leaving unable to fix-up his car.
The Car S.O.S team battled through a series of setbacks to get the car back to its former glory. The result of all their persistence and hard work will leave even the most hardened of petrolheads amazed.
An episode later in the series promises to be one of the most moving in Car S.O.S history. Contributor Steve’s daughter Darcie was at the Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena when a bomb tore through the lives of those there. Uniquely Darcie survived, but her mother was sadly killed. Before the tragic blast, they wanted to restore their 1963 Citroen HY Camionette into a milkshake and coffee van. However due to the circumstances, they didn’t get round to it. Car S.O.S have stepped in to make it happen.
A mixed bag of vehicles to keep you entertained
Some of the car restorations you can look forward to seeing on this season are the Fiat Uno Turbo, Saab 900, Ford Escort RS2000, VW Corrado, Dennis Fire Engine, Toyota Supra Mk 4, an Opel Manta and Citroen Hy Van.
Keep an eye out for the 100th car makeover on Car S.O.S which features an ambitious transformation of a petrol to electric car.
