The Cape Town International Kite Festival returns in 2025 with a fresh theme: #CourageToFly.
Celebrating its 31st year, the festival shines a light on hope, resilience, and mental health awareness. For the first time since the pandemic, it will run two full days, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October, at a new venue: Youngsfield Military Base, Ottery.
Organised by Cape Mental Health, this beloved festival invites all ages to lift their eyes—and spirits—skyward. Each kite represents creativity, freedom, and the courage it takes to speak up, seek help, and support others on their mental health journey.
The festival promises a stunning display of colourful show-kites from local and international flyers, plus entertainment, kite-making workshops, vendors, and an amusement park for children.
