Thirty years after its groundbreaking debut, William Kentridge and Handspring Puppet Company reunite to revive Faustus in Africa! on stage.
This reimagined production runs at The Baxter from 26 February to 22 March 2025. Directed by Kentridge, with Handspring’s masterful puppetry and design, the revival breathes new life into their multi-award-winning 1995 masterpiece.
A gleefully irreverent take on the ‘Faustian Pact,’ this timeless tale remains a powerful allegory for today’s world. Its themes of compromise and moral trade-offs resonate across generations, reflecting urgent issues of power, greed, and short-term gain—at the heart of today’s climate crisis and global challenges.

Tucked within the exclusive Korhaan River Estate, where fewer than 30 families share in the quiet luxury of open skies, river breeze and uninterrupted privacy, this remarkable property brings country living to life with elegance, intention, and a touch of soul.
Set along the gentle Leeuspruit River — just a short flow from the mighty Vaal — the estate unfolds across 70,500m² of manicured grounds, three shimmering dams, and sweeping lawns made for unhurried afternoons. It’s the kind of setting where mornings begin with birdsong and evenings settle beneath a canopy of stars — whether as a permanent sanctuary or a sophisticated weekend retreat from city rush.
