Othello

Othello is on stage at The Baxter from April 6 to May 4, 2024.

In this unique South African interpretation, performed in English, isiXhosa, and Afrikaans, Foot delves into Othello’s inner world. She offers an African perspective by presenting the play in multiple languages and setting it against the backdrop of German colonialism and the Herero uprising in present-day Namibia.

The play explores themes of envy, distrust, and jealousy, culminating in the tragic destruction of love, resonating with contemporary relevance.
